According to officials, D.D.A Last year, similar flats were allotted in Kalkaji under the ‘Jahan Jhuggi Wahi Makan’ scheme, the first of its kind in the capital. “The flats in Jailorwala Bagh will also go a long way in fulfilling the prime minister’s inclusive vision of a dignified life for the poorest of the poor,” said a Raj Niwas official.

With an area of ​​340 sq ft, each of these flats has a bedroom, a living room, a kitchen, separate toilet and bathroom and a balcony. “While the total residential built-up area of ​​the project is around 67,000 sqm, the covered area for community amenities is around 1000 sqm. It also has provision for parking of 337 vehicles,” said another official.

The LG also reviewed the progress of Vaishnavi Nursery-cum-Park, which is adjacent to these flats. Officials said the world-class nursery would prove to be a boon for around 10,000 residents of Jalorwala Bagh flats and residential colonies in the neighboring areas. The project consolidates seven fragmented green areas to develop a large park of approximately 33 acres. The foundation stone of the park was laid by Saxena on December 29 last year.

“The project proposes to develop an environmental asset in the form of a public park. It will act as an integrated center where city dwellers and tourists can interact with each other through associated activities of plant nursery, vermi-composting, apiculture, pottery and hydroponic farming. Opportunity to interact with nature will be provided.

“The central area is designed as a public park with interactive sculptures and a multi-purpose arena, along with micro-introductions of mythical tree species in the main space. There will be a standing restaurant within this space, which will serve as the park’s timepieces.” will operate later.
