Gandhinagar: Union Government told Parliament that 4,93,136 houses have been built Gujarat Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana – Urban (PMAY-U) over the last three years under the mission ‘Housing for All’.
Union Minister of State for Housing and Urban Affairs, MP Parimal Nathwani replying to a question in the Rajya Sabha, Kaushal Kishore said on Monday that central assistance of Rs 2,398.44 crore was used in the last three years to build pucca houses.
Nathwani sought to know the number of pucca houses constructed under PMAY (U) for economically weaker sections in urban areas in the last three years as well as the details of financial assistance provided and utilized by the government under various centrally supported schemes in the last three years.
In his reply, the minister said the scheme has three Centrally Sponsored Components (CSS), namely, Beneficiary-led Individual House Construction or Augmentation (BLC), Affordable Housing in Partnership (AHP), and In-Situ Slum Redevelopment (ISSR), and a Central Sector Component (CS) namely Credit Linked Subsidy Scheme (CLSS).
The CSS component of the scheme covers Economically Weaker Section (EWS) beneficiaries with an annual household income of up to Rs 3 lakh, while the CS component of the scheme covers beneficiaries with an annual household income of up to Rs 18 lakh.
