GurugramResident of : Chintel Paradiso A candlelight march was held here on Friday to mark the anniversary of the collapse of parts of some apartments in the housing complex, demanding reconstruction of the flats.
Raising slogans like “Ghar Ke Badle Ghar” (a house for a house) and “Justice for Humanity, Justice for Chintels”, the protesters marched to the Deputy Commissioner (DC). Nishant Kumar Yadavofficials and handed them a memorandum listing their demands.
“The Gurugram Administration has continuously dragged and delayed the matter by not issuing timely orders to the developer/builder to provide permanent and equivalent accommodation to the aggrieved owners by purchasing new flats of similar size of similar size and specifications.
“If it is not fully workable for the Developer/Builder for any reason, the Developer/Builder may reconstruct the unsafe towers in a time bound manner under the supervision of the Government of Haryana and adjust the same in the interim period by paying market rent to all the owners.” value for payment of their rent/EMI etc. during this period,” read the memorandum.

“The residents are demanding reconstruction of the flats. Though it is not in our hands, we will definitely recommend their case to the state government,” he added.
On February 10 last year, renovation work at a sixth-floor apartment in Tower D at Chintels Paradiso in Gurugram’s Sector 109 led to the collapse of its dining room floor. One after the other, the roofs and floors of the flats collapsed, killing two people.
