CIDCO offers amnesty to defaulters of Mass HSG scheme under PMA, ET Real Estate

Navi Mumbai: Defaulter in the collective housing scheme CIDCO One more chance to pay the remaining installments with waiver of Delayed Payment Charges (DPC). CIDCO has offered an amnesty scheme till April 30, allowing exemption in DPC to homebuyers who are unable to pay the installments for booking flats under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana.PMAY,

CIDCO had conducted computerized draw of lots for apartments under various mass housing schemes during 2018-2022. It is learned that some applicants have paid some installments while some applicants have not paid even a single installment till date. Considering the repeated requests for extension by the defaulters, the CIDCO Board of Directors has approved the Amnesty Scheme as a last resort to clear the dues.

“CIDCO has contributed immensely towards the achievement of Housing for All PMAY, CIDCO’s housing schemes have helped the common man to fulfill his dream of owning a home. Due to the financial crisis in the last few years, many successful applicants of the CIDCO Mass Housing Scheme found it difficult to pay the installments. Therefore, keeping in view the humanitarian point of view, the government had directed CIDCO to give extension to these applicants and give concession in DPC on their outstanding installments. Accordingly, CIDCO has launched an amnesty scheme,” said the chief minister. Eknath ShindeCIDCO MD Sanjay Mukherjee said, “CIDCO has decided to announce amnesty scheme for applicants who have not paid all the installments in respect of houses allotted under Mass Housing Scheme of CIDCO. CIDCO, taking cognizance of the fact that most of these defaulters belong to EWS and LIG, has therefore decided to reduce their financial burden by giving relaxation in DPC. The scheme will be applicable only to those applicants who pay the outstanding installments within the stipulated time.

After completion of document verification, allotment letters have been issued to the eligible applicants.
