New Delhi: Around 25 per cent of the 5,500 flats proposed as part of the ongoing housing scheme Delhi Development Authority ,D.D.A), officials said on Friday, have been booked since July 10.
The DDA launched a housing scheme on June 30 on a first-come-first-served (FCFS) basis, comprising 5,500 flats across categories at various locations in Delhi.
More than 650 flats were booked as soon as the booking window opened on the DDA website from noon on July 10. All the 50 flats in Dwarka were completely sold out on the first day.
1-BHK flats being offered under the scheme narela, Siraspur, Rohini, and Loknayak Puram; 2-BHK flats in Narela and Dwarka; and 3-BHK flats in Jasola.
Of these 5,500 flats, over 1,400 have been booked till July 21, officials said on Friday.
These include 670 flats in Rohini and 625 flats in Narela. Rest of the locations such as Jasola (23), Siraspur (14) and Loknayak Puram (33) are receiving encouraging response, the official said, adding that as many as 1,415 flats have been booked till July 21, according to the data shared by the official.
He said the DMRC’s recent proposal to extend the metro line to Kundli, which includes Rohini’s Sectors 34 and 35 and Narela, which are part of the ongoing housing scheme, would also be beneficial to buyers.
The DMRC had on July 11 said that the network’s proposed Rithala-Narela corridor could be extended up to Kundli in Haryana to provide additional connectivity to the neighboring state.
“We are planning more camps, more publicity. So far, the performance has been encouraging as around 25 per cent flats have been booked in just 10 days,” the official said.
The DDA on July 10 said it would issue demand-cum-allotment letters online within 24 hours to all those who have booked flats.
The registration and booking of the scheme is underway and people can book flats of their choice online through the DDA website.
Officials said the DDA website faced heavy traffic in the first six hours on July 10 as the hits reached over 11 lakh since the opening of bookings under FCFS Phase-IV. A senior official had earlier said that the website had received over 11 lakh hits till 5.30 pm that day, which later increased to over 17 lakh by late night.
