Gurugram: a group of home buyers Mahira Homes A protest was held at the developer’s office in Global Foyer Mall on Golf Course Road in Sector 68 on Friday. He alleged that the affordable housing project launched five years ago is still incomplete and government agencies have failed to take action against the developer.

Aggrieved home buyer Anu Gupta said that if there is further delay in handing over the flats, the developer should arrange temporary rental accommodation for all the buyers in a nearby society and bear the rental cost. “Home buyers will have no option but to move into the un-allotted flats as it has become difficult for them to pay both rent and EMI,” he added.

“Around 1,500 families have bought flats in this project and were expecting possession in 2022, but the construction is stalled. DTCP has also failed to take any concrete action against the developer and provide relief to the aggrieved home buyers who invested in the project,” said a buyer requesting anonymity.

Another buyer Tarang Agarwal said, “If the developer does not give the possession of the flats, the home buyers will be forced to launch a series of protests at the DTCP and HRARA offices as well as the PM and CM office.”

Altogether nearly 5,000 home buyers of affordable housing projects in Sectors 63, 68, 95, 103 and 104 Gurgaon Developers launched by Mahira Homes are still waiting for their homes.

Home buyers have alleged that HRARA, DTCP and other concerned departments have failed to take action against the developer, who has cheated the home buyers and stalled the construction of the projects.
