New Delhi: The Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday arrested the real estate firm IREOOfficial sources said the owner and managing director of the company, Lalit Goyal, is facing a money laundering case related to alleged bribery of a suspended special judge, Panchkula.

The businessman was taken into custody by the Federal Investigation Agency under criminal sections Prevention of Money Laundering Act (PMLA) from Gurugram, he said.

The ED may present him in a special court on Wednesday seeking his remand.

The money laundering case stems from an FIR registered in April by the Anti-Corruption Bureau of the Haryana Police against former special CBI-ED judge Sudhir Parmar, who was posted in Panchkula, his nephew Ajay Parmar and another realty promoter Roop Kumar Bansal . Group M3M, and others.

This is the fourth arrest made by the agency in this case in less than a month.

The ED has arrested Ajay Parmar, nephew of Sudhir Parmar, and two directors and ‘key managerial persons’ of M3M Group – Basant Bansal and Pankaj Bansal.

As per the ACB’s FIR, the ED said, it had received credible information that Parmar was showing “favouritism” towards Roop Kumar Bansal, his brother Basant Bansal and Lalit Goyal of IREO, accused in ED criminal cases and in other cases. CBI against him. pending in its own court.

Goyal was arrested by the ED in 2021 in another money laundering probe.
