Trichy: Tamil Nadu Urban Housing Development Board (TNUHDB), formerly known as Tamil Nadu Slum Clearance Board ,TNSCB), proposes to develop an affordable housing project for the urban poor punjapur Close to upcoming Integrated Bus Terminus (IBT). Sources said that the application for allotment of land is under consideration of the district administration.

A comprehensive design plan including infrastructure for the Panjapur project on the Trichy-Madurai National Highway was completed by TNUHDB.

If materialised, the housing project will be the third tallest project for TNUHDB after Vannarapettai and Jellapettai. Meanwhile, the TNUHDB has said that the construction work for Gelpettai Phase II (high rise tower) near Markakkadai and Srirangam Phase II on Panjakkarai Road in the city has been completed.

The expansion projects in Srirangam and Jelpettai will have 106 and 64 residential units respectively. “The work of adding infrastructure is nearing the final stage, the allotment for both the projects will be done soon,” the official said.
