Noida: There is no electricity in the common area. JKG Palm Court in society Greater Noida West for a week now, residents complained.

They protested against the builder on Sunday afternoon, claiming that the builder has not taken a permanent electricity connection from the electricity department and temporarily runs JKG Palm Court.

The builder did not respond to TOI’s calls.

Around 350 families reside in JKG Palm Court. “The builder is pressurizing us to pay maintenance charges without providing basic amenities. Since February 5, there is no electricity in the common area. The builder has also put up a notice, saying that if we pay the maintenance charges If not, other facilities like lift will stop,” said Santosh Jha, a resident of the society.

Residents said the project has been delayed by 8 years, and the builder still does not have a permanent electricity connection or a diesel generator set.

“The residents have been living here for the last 3-4 years. Due to no electricity in the common area, everyone has difficulty in commuting. The builder had taken one year’s advance payment, which included stamp duty charges and NCPL ,Noida Power Company Ltd) connection charges, from us,” said Santosh Jha.

Residents said that they too did not feel safe due to the damaged boundary wall and lack of CCTV cameras.

Ripunjay Jha, another resident said, “The builder has got a temporary occupation certificate (OC) GNIDA For 18 months in 2019. During those months, the builder was supposed to get power backup, internal wiring, necessary NOC etc. but the builder failed to do the work. Hence, GNIDA canceled his provisional OC.”

The residents alleged that the builder does not respond to any of their issues, the clubhouse is not ready yet, and intercom facilities are also non-working in many flats.
