Gurugram: MCG organized property tax camp at Nirvana Society on Friday for correction of data in new property ID. An MCG official said that over 400 residents corrected their data and the information in the new property ID was verified with the old one.
The camp will be held at the community center DLF-1 on Saturday and at the old MCG office on Sunday. Objections and claims will be resolved on the spot through the No Objection Certificate (NDC) portal.
Nirvana resident Kulwant Saini said, “There were discrepancies in the name and address of my property. Also, there was a mismatch between the data in my old ID and the new ID. I have come to rectify this.
Zonal taxation officer (headquarters) Gulshan Saluja said, “We received a good response in the camp on Friday and we are expecting more people to come to the other two camps to correct the Tehri property tax data. Objections are being resolved on the spot.
In January last year, a survey by a private agency had found that 5.14 lakh properties came under the MCG. After the survey was completed, residents complained that the new property IDs generated had incorrect details, leading to a faulty database of residents’ properties.
Therefore, the MCG deployed 292 field staff, including multi-tasking staff of the health wing of the MCG, supervisors of the sanitation wing, clerks deputed to the office of councillors, etc., for re-verification of the property tax data. Decision taken after Chief Minister Manohar Lal Khattar Had reviewed the status of the properties surveyed and directed their re-verification.
