The corporation awarded the work to a contractor in 2017 at a revised rate of Rs 18 crore.
The contractor could complete the work of one and a half floor even after two years. Then, the corporation revised the estimate to Rs 39 crore without sufficient reasons. Opposition leader Antony Kurithara said, “It is a grave injustice to keep poor homeless people waiting desperately.”
