Telangana to give Rs 3 lakh assistance for construction of houses starting 2023

Hyderabad: With an eye on the 2023 assembly polls, the ruling TRS is planning to implement its poll promise of providing financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh to those who have relatively small parcels of land to construct their houses.

The plan is to roll out the welfare scheme across the state early next year. The officials are also working on the rules and guidelines for the implementation of the scheme.

The TRS had promised financial assistance as the construction of 2-BHK units was delayed and the number of home seekers was far more than the units being constructed.

Though the ruling party had actually said that it would extend the financial assistance to 5 lakhs, the amount was later reduced to 3 lakhs to cover more beneficiaries. Political analysts said that people can also expect other welfare schemes, such as Aasara pension being extended to new categories of people aged 57 to 65, new ration cards being given to all eligible people, which Will be applicable in the election year 2023.

If the elections are held as per schedule Telangana Assembly, they are due in December 2023. Even if elections are held early, it will happen only in 2023. KCR had announced that the government initially plans to give financial assistance of Rs 3 lakh to over 3,000 beneficiaries in each of the state’s 119 assembly constituencies.

In addition, another 43,000 houses will be made available for allocation by the Chief Minister under special circumstances, including displacement of people and those affected by natural calamities.

However, TRS MLAs and ministers are under tremendous pressure from the people to increase the number of beneficiaries in each assembly segment.

Given the fact that the TRS government found it difficult to identify suitable land parcels in every town and city for construction of 2-BHKs, many people, who have even 40 square yards of patta land, are demanding that They should be given financial assistance of 3 lakhs. them.

A senior official said the guidelines for identification of beneficiaries, extent of land, category and nature of land are being finalised.
