Trichy, Tamil Nadu Housing Board As many as 464 plots were allotted to the beneficiaries at four different sites in Trichy through a draw of lots on Thursday. The process was live-streamed to ensure transparency.

The first applications were issued to buy plots in Navalpattu Phase I & Phase II, Area Development Plan plot and plot at Valavanthankottai Project site.
On Thursday, around 205 plots were allotted at the Navalpattu Phase I site, the highest among the four locations. In Phase II, near the Phase I site at Navalpattu, around 96 plots were allotted to the beneficiaries under the manual lot system. In the Valavantankottai project site, TNHB allotted only 24 plots due to poor demand.
“The plots not allotted under the lotta draw on Thursday will be notified through a separate newspaper announcement. People will be invited again to buy plots by paying the full cost of the land, said an official source. Draw of lots system may not be followed in the second level of allotment.
The next allotment round will be conducted in December. The Navalpattu project site promoted by TNHB, citing the proximity of the project location to the Trichy-Pudukottai NH, Ordnance Factory and Trichy IT Park, witnessed high demand as compared to other project sites.
