The UT administration has given approval for disposal of properties on freehold basis as it had earlier asked the civic body to stop the process.
“We have decided to take steps to auction sites that are in good standing and are bigger in size. We hope to get a good amount. The officials have been asked to make arrangements for the auction.
Apart from a motor shop and two restaurant sites, all properties to be auctioned are shop-cum-flat (SCF). Reserve prices vary from Rs 3 crore to Rs 6 crore according to size, location and other criteria.
All properties will be sold through e-auction only. The civic body has prepared the draft terms and conditions. The MC will set up a help desk to provide information to the people willing to participate in the e-auction. Interested bidders have to upload the required documents before the last date of submission.
