Ludhiana: After a gap of about six months, Ludhiana Improvement Trust ,sparkling) has received formal approval to proceed with the construction process of Atal Apartment And give letters to the flat allottees.
The approval took such a long time in view of the ongoing vigilance probe into the work done during the tenure of former LIT chairman Raman Balasubrahmanyam.
The draw of the allotted flats will be taken out. Officials said they would complete the process in the coming days.
On June 16, the LIT had conducted the draw of lots for the flats to be built under the Atal Apartment Scheme.
Flats will be built on 8.8 acres of land on Pakhowal Road. LIT’s superintending engineer Satbhushan Sachdeva said, ‘We have got the approval. The next process will start soon.”
Notably, the Atal Apartment Scheme has been pending since 2008. The foundation stone of the project was laid twice – first in 2011 by the then Local Government Minister Tikshan Sood and again in December 2021 by the then Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi,
