Thane: The Maharashtra housing board MHADA Lottery of Konkan Board 4,640 apartments and 14 plots were announced in ThaneKashinath Ghanekar Auditorium on Wednesday.
The Board received around 48,805 applications for flats in – Thane, Palghar, Ratnagiri, Raigad and by Sindhudurg districts Konkan Board Of MHADA,
A computerized lottery system Integrated Housing Lottery Management System (IHLMS 2.0) and latest technology has been used for the sale of flats constructed by MHADA this year which is completely free of human involvement, an official of MHADA said.
Among the winners, MHADA’s contract peon Ashok Kondalkar tried his luck for the fourth time. When he won the flat in Morivali area of Ambernath, he could not believe his eyes. A resident of Kalyan said that he had lost hope but he filled four forms and won the apartment. “I can live in my own apartment and it’s a dream come true.”
The first winner of this year’s lottery, 35-year-old Abhijit Shinde, who works as an employee in a private company in Kalwa, reached the dais as soon as his name was announced to win the flat in Raymonds in Thane. He went on stage with his wife and could not control his emotions. “I live in a rented house in Kalyan and this was the first time I applied for a lottery and won it. Now my dream of having my own house has come true.
Earlier in the day Chief Minister Eknath Shinde Inaugurating the lottery through video conferencing, he said that MHADA is fulfilling the dreams of common citizens. “The response to this year’s Konkan Board draw proves the faith in MHADA housing.”
MHADA PRO Hemant Patil said that around 47,194 citizens watched the live telecast of the draw by MHADA through webcasting.
