Indore, Indore Municipal Corporation (IMC), which has set a target of constructing around 12,500 housing units Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana ,PMAY) by the end of this calendar year, Wednesday identified some projects that are delayed by about six months to two years.
Tapti Complex of IMC at Rangwasa – a project for construction of residential units PMAY – Delayed by about a year, while the Satpura campus in Budhania is delayed by about two years. The lockdown after the outbreak of Kovid-19 is said to be the main reason behind the delay. Official sources said that about one year is still left for the completion of both the projects.
Mayor Pushyamitra Bhargava Visited Tapti campus on Wednesday and reviewed the progress of the project. He had sanctioned Rs 110 crore in the IMC 2023-24 budget under the affordable housing scheme with a target of constructing 12,224 housing units by the end of this calendar year. He said that a total of 6,676 units have been constructed and are being allotted to eligible beneficiaries.
“Residents are facing inconvenience due to some ongoing construction works including laying of water pipeline, sewage line, electricity connection and sewage treatment plant (STP) construction in Tapti complex,” the mayor said. And complete the ongoing work in the next six months.
Mahesh Sharma, Supervising Engineer, IMC said, “A total of 4000 1BHK and 2BHK flats are being built in apartments, which also have provisions for lifts and fire safety equipment.”
