Chandigarh: Small flats with arrears of outstanding rent up to Rs 50 crore, Chandigarh Housing Board ,chb) have started canceling the allotments of the defaulters.
“In the past month, chb The allotment of 100 such allottees has been canceled and we are issuing show cause notices to other defaulters. Defaulters with huge dues will be dealt with first,” said Yashpal GargCEO, CHB.
Once the allotment of a unit is cancelled, the allottee needs to vacate it. If the appellate authority allows the restoration of the allotment, the allottee will have to pay the pending dues along with interest and revival charges. About 18,000 flats have been allotted from time to time under rehabilitation schemes.
