Shimla: ‘Mukhyamantri Vidhwa Evam Ekal Nari Awas Yojana’ – State Government’s scheme to provide financial assistance for construction of houses to eligible widows and single women will be launched soon, said Himachal Pradesh Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu on Wednesday.
An amount of Rs 1.5 lakh will be provided as financial assistance under the scheme to around 7,000 women with an annual income of less than Rs 2 lakh during the current financial year, said a statement issued here.
The scheme was announced during the budget session. Women and Child Development Department Finalizing the modalities of the scheme.
The Chief Minister said that this initiative of the State Government would provide much-needed support to these women, who often face difficulties in building houses due to financial constraints.
In addition, the houses constructed under this scheme will be equipped with basic amenities such as electricity, water and other essential amenities, which will ensure that women have access to essential resources.
He said that the government’s efforts to meet the housing needs of these vulnerable groups would lead to inclusive and sustainable development in the state.
The welfare of the underprivileged section of the society is the focus area of the present state government and several initiatives have been launched in the budget 2023-24. He said that reforms are being done to improve the standard of living of the weaker sections of the society and its results will be visible in the coming times.
