Kolkata: The Kolkata Municipal Corporation ,KMC) The valuation department will organize camps for mutation of flats in housing complexes and high-rise buildings.
KMC Brass has taken the decision following requests from flat owners across the city who face harassment while trying for mutation of their properties.
A resident of Cossipur, who owns a flat in a housing complex, called up the mayor during an interactive session on Friday and requested him to arrange for mutation of his flat. Hakim asked a senior official of the KMC revenue department to set up a camp at the Cossipore housing estate and help complete the enrollment process for over 60 applicants.
Inspectors from the KMC valuation department were asked to survey flats across the city that have not been valuated. “We need to find out the undervalued flats and help the flat owners convert their properties without any hassle. Inspectors cannot back down from their duties as this will put the flat or house owner in trouble,” said the Mayor.
Some of the areas where the KMC assessment department wants to organize camps include large areas EM bypassparts of Jadavpur, Tollygunge and the Behala-Joka belt.
