Pune: Houses under construction under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (PMAY) In Vadgaon Khurdo The areas will be handed over to the beneficiaries by March 2023.
Project works were reviewed by a delegation of Pune Municipal Corporation (PMC) officials on Thursday
“Around 80% of the project work has been completed. The remaining work will be completed soon, and the houses will be allotted to the beneficiaries in about six months,” said Ravindra Binwade, additional commissioner, PMC. Under this scheme, 1,108 houses will be available to the applicants.
According to civic officials, PMC has been registered as a developer under MahaRERA for the PMAY project. These houses are built for the economically weaker sections of the society.
These flats were made available under the scheme to buyers in Kharadi, Hadapsar and Vadgaon. There are over 20,000 applications for these homes under five different projects. These projects have been executed under the ‘Affordable Housing’ section. Of these, most of the flats in Hadapsar and Kharadi have been handed over to the buyers. Officials said the housing project has been exempted from the mandatory budgetary cut of the PMC. The civil administration has taken a 10% cut on all major works after the fall in income due to the pandemic.
PMC had conducted an online lottery in October 2020. But some buyers, who got flats in the lottery, could not buy them due to various reasons. Again the lottery of unclaimed flats was taken out.
According to PMC officials, the civil administration has planned projects in other civil areas as well. There will be 2,607 flats available for the buyers. These will be constructed at Balewadi, Baner, Dhanori and Kondhwa (Budruk).
