Visakhapatnam: The Energy Efficiency Services Limited has agreed in principle to support the state government to usher in a new era energy efficiency Below ‘Navaratnalu – Pedalandariki Illu‘ Program.
According to officials, the cost-effective energy-efficient appliances will be provided to the beneficiaries on a voluntary basis. Negotiations are going on with the State Housing Department EESL about this energy efficient project and want to make it the biggest EE program in the country.
During a review meeting on the ‘Jagananna Colonies’ housing scheme with Housing Development Corporation Managing Director G Laxmisha, Joint Director Shiv Prasad and EESL Delhi senior officials Animesh Mishra and Nitin Bhutt, Special Chief Secretary (Housing) Ajay Jain said that The Department is keen to utilize the services of EESL.
“AP is the only state to have taken such an innovative step, demonstrating an unprecedented step to reduce electricity bills and promote sustainable development practices among its beneficiaries. The housing department, which has been tasked with the implementation of the ‘Navaratnalu-Pedalandariki Illu’ project, has closed 20.45 lakh housing units so far. The state government is determined on completing around 5 lakh units by the end of this month,” said Ajay Jain.
“The state government disbursed a total loan of Rs 4,288 crore to over 12 lakh beneficiaries. The government also sanctioned Rs 3,266 crore under Jal Jeevan Mission to provide water supply in 9,332 housing layouts. With a focus on providing not just shelter but safe, decent and affordable homes, Chief Minister YS Jagan Mohan Reddy aims to transform the lives of deserving families and turn their dreams into reality,” said Ajay Jain.
