The move comes following a physical altercation between a team of Noida Authority officials and representatives of the builder over the demolition of six illegal flat-cum-shops last Friday.
The authority team later suspended the demolition drive and filed a police complaint alleging obstruction of duty and assault on the officials.
“We have invoked sections 147 (punishment for rioting), 353 (offence of assault on a public servant), 332 (voluntarily causing hurt or hurt to deter a public servant from discharge of his duties), and 504 (insult) An FIR has been registered under. with intent to provoke breach of the peace under the Indian Penal Code (IPC),” said a police officer.
Antakya Golf View 1, which houses 1,200 families, had come under scrutiny after the builder constructed 72 flats in an area designated for stilt parking in the master plan. Officials said the builder had not taken necessary approvals.
In May last year, the Noida Authority had sealed 11 of these flats following complaints of illegal construction. However, residents in 32 others have approached the court to stay any such action.
The Noida Authority wanted to demolish the remaining 29 flats on Friday. However, according to officials, they had no police assistance that day, hence disturbances during the demolition drive.
“Last week on Friday, we could demolish only six flats-cum-shops in Space Golf View 1 and suspended the operation after the builder’s representatives tried to stop the demolition,” said an official.
Illegal flats have also come up in the stilt parking area of Antriksh Golf View 2, officials said.
Despite repeated attempts, there was no response from the builder.
