Guwahati: The Assam Panchayat and Rural Development Department to organize mass house warming ceremony for more than 3 lakh people PMAY -G beneficiaries on July 13, the official said on Tuesday.
Chief Minister of Assam Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Will ceremonially launch the mass housewarming program in Guwahati.
Assam Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Ranjit Kumar Das told ANI, “A central function has been organized at Srimanta Sankardev Kalakshetra International Auditorium, Guwahati on July 13, where Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma will participate as the chief guest. “
The minister further said that a total of 3.02 lakh beneficiaries under PMAY-G will perform house warming ceremony simultaneously.
Members of Parliament, MLAs, Chief Executive Members, Chairpersons of Municipal Boards, Chairpersons, Zilla Parishads and Panchayats, GP Members, Deputy Commissioners, ADCs, CEOs of Zilla Parishads, BDOs and other prominent persons of the concerned area will participate in the Griha Pravesh. Celebrations across the state.
He also said that this program would be the second biggest of its kind.
“Earlier 5 lakh Griha Pravesh program was organized in Uttar Pradesh where Prime Minister Narendra Modi was the chief guest and the July 13 event in Assam will become the second biggest Griha Pravesh event,” the minister said.
The minister also said that the Assam government would complete the remaining 6.69 lakh houses by September 2024.
“Under PMAY-G, the Center has sanctioned 19,10,823 houses i.e. ‘Housing for All’, and of these, 12,41,559 PMAY-G houses have been completed so far. From May 10, 2021, Assam 8 done.” 34,839 PMAY-G houses. We have targeted that, the remaining 6.69 lakh houses will be completed by September 2024,” said Ranjit Kumar Das.
In the financial year 2022-23, the state has received a total amount of Rs 14,540.84 crore, which includes Rs 13086.76 crore as central share and Rs 1454.08 crore as state share.
From the last financial year 2022-23 till now, Rs 10913.24 crore has been spent on the state.
Ranjit Kumar Das also said that till now 7 clusters covering 99 beneficiaries have been completed under PMAY-G and 19 clusters covering 838 beneficiaries are running in 10 districts of the state.
Assam Panchayat and Rural Development Department has trained 4923 masons to meet the demand of local masons for construction of PMAY-G houses.
