Gurugram:Gurugram administration has ordered structural audit of buildings After visual inspection of 23 housing societies here, it was found that they may be unsafe. Repairs will be done on the basis of the audit report and if any building is not repairable, it will be vacated, he said.
On February 10, 2022, two women were killed when the floor of their sixth-floor apartment in Tower D in Chintels Paradiso, Sector 109, collapsed, causing the roof and floor to collapse to the first floor directly below it.
Yadav said, after visual inspection of 55 housing societies, it was decided that structural audit of buildings in 23 societies would be conducted in the first phase.
The inspection included various check points such as overall maintenance, plastering, seepage, leakage, dampness and cracks in the basement, dampness of beams, slabs and floors, and condition of building rooftop water tanks and shafts, the official said.
He said that during the inspection it was found that the buildings in 23 housing societies were not safe.
In February this year, the Gurugram administration declared Towers D, E and F of Chintels Paradiso unsafe based on a structural audit report by IIT Delhi.
Last month, Tower F was closed after a balcony of a flat was found to be “loose”.
