Noida: A team from Noida Federation of Apartment Owners Association (NOFAA), New Era Flat Owners Welfare Association (nefova) and Federation of Noida and Greater Noida On Sunday, the Apartment Owners Association met the CM regarding the delay in registries at the GBU campus in Greater Noida.
Citing over 2.5 lakh registries pending for a decade or more, the team appointed a nodal officer from the administration to act as a mediator between builders, residents and authorities to prevent further delays demanded. The team also sought strict action against builders in cases of completed projects where registries are still pending. Yogi Adityanath Assured the team to take necessary steps.
“We briefly met the CM at GBU and presented our petition on issues related to the builder. We said we need a quick resolution on pending registries and suggested appointing a nodal officer to facilitate the process,” said NOFAA president Rajeev Singh.
“We told the CM that the home buyers have paid all the applicable charges long back but they do not have the possession of their houses as the builder owes dues and fines to the authorities. NOFAA Secretary General Rajesh Sahay said, “It is necessary to find a middle ground with a long-term strategy.”
The team suggested the Noida Authority to grant one-time relief to builders by facilitating registries for more than 50,000 flats or by facilitating recovery from builders by attaching their property or assets.
Nefova president Abhishek Kumar said, “We told the CM that all builders, whether absconding or not, should be made accountable for stopping work by attaching their properties.”
NEFOWA, which has been holding weekly Sunday protests over pending registries, also sought relief from police crackdown on buyers.
“Recently, the police registered an FIR against some protesting home buyers. We told the CM that we have no criminal background and we have the right to protest for our homes. All police action against home buyers should be withdrawn,” said Shubhra Singh from Nefova.
