At least 10 flat owners of towers D, E and F in Sector 109 society told TOI on Tuesday that the developer had sent them an e-mail on June 11, saying it was terminating their rental contracts. and the families have to vacate the residence in a week. ,

The flats in question are alternative housing that was provided to the homeowners after a vertical collapse in Tower D of the society had to vacate their own flats.
The inspection of the tower by experts from IIT-Delhi after the February 2022 cave-in had found irreparable structural defects in the tower. Subsequently, two more towers – E and F – were found to have faults, prompting residents to evacuate those as well.

Last month, Chintels India agreed to two options – pay the flat cost of Rs 6,500/sq ft to the landlords of towers D, E and F within four months and refund the stamp duty along with the cost of interior work in the house; Or renovate/renovate the buildings as recommended by the experts.
When asked about the e-mail, a spokesperson for the developer said: “In case of the second option, we will charge Rs 1,000 per sq ft for the increase in material cost, and we will not pay the rent (for alternative accommodation). for) ).We have not issued any eviction notice.”
According to the society’s RWA, 180 families were shifted from the three towers. An estimated half of them have opted in to offer compensation so far, but many remain undecided.

Tower G is the fourth building in Chintel Paradiso to be declared unsafe to live in this month. The announcement was made after experts from IIT-Delhi characterized the chloride content in the concrete and rusted steel bars of the building.
