423 brokers appear for MahaRERA certificate exam, Real Estate News, ET Real Estate

Pune: Altogether 423 real estate agents appeared in the exam from across the state Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Maharera) Certification Exam on Saturday.

This is the first ever exam conducted for certification of real estate agents in the state Maharerasaid an official.

All the 39,000 agents registered with MahaRERA as well as the unregistered ones need to obtain MahaRERA certification before September 1 to carry out their business as estate agents.

MahaRERA had issued a circular on January 10 this year, making it mandatory for real estate agents to undergo professional training and obtain certification.

An official said that 457 agents received training from the authority, but 423 agents appeared in the exam. “We had 92% attendance in the first round of the exam after the training. An official told TOI that the next round of examination would be conducted soon for the next lot of agents who have completed their training.

The authority provides training in MAHARERA rules and regulations. The exam is conducted in a phased manner and all agents are asked to register for the same. Only those with certificates can work as real estate agents from September 1, an official said, adding that the May 20 exam has triggered structural changes for estate agents.
