Gurugram: The Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has clarified that only buildings with three floors will be allowed on affordable housing plots. On 23 February, the state government had stopped the approval of the fourth floor following massive protests by groups of residents, who claimed that the floors have been constructed in residential colonies in the city but not for raising infrastructure such as roads. Not much work has been done. , electricity supply, sewerage and drainage. While approvals for all four-storey buildings were cancelled, no mention was made of affordable housing plots. This created confusion among developers, for which DTCP has now issued a clarification.

In an order issued on May 10, DTCP director TL Satyaprakash said applications have been received for approval of zoning plans, where layout plans were issued at the time of granting licenses before February 23, considering a density of 18 persons per plot (four dwelling units).

But till the time the expert panel submits its recommendation, only plans with a density of 13.5 persons (three floors) will be approved. “If the decision keeping the approval of four-storeyed buildings in abeyance is set aside, the number of storeys will be reduced to four,” the order said.

The DTCP Director also stated that even in cases where the layout plan and license for four floors have already been issued ddjayZoning plan will be approved on the basis of 13.5 persons per plot.

Meanwhile, P Raghavendra Rao, chairman of the expert committee, has called a meeting of DTCP, heads of departments concerned. hsvpULB and HSIIDC On Tuesday, feedback was taken on the problems being faced at the ground level due to the policy. The panel is expected to take a decision on the policy in the meeting, after which it will submit its report to the state government.
