Gurugram: Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) have sealed five residential buildings in DLF 1 and 2 more South City 2 For violating building regulations. According to officials, a maintenance office set up in the parking lot of an affordable housing project has also been sealed.
The violators have made unauthorized constructions in the buildings after obtaining occupation certificate (OC) from the department. This action was taken on the basis of seven complaints lodged on the CM window.
District town planner (enforcement) Manish Yadav said a team of officials was sent to the sites after the department received complaints. They found that illegal construction was done in the stilt parking area of two houses and illegal construction was done on the second floor of another house. All the three houses were sealed by the enforcement team on the spot. Similarly, three floors with stilt parking in a residential property in DLF 2 and four floors with stilt parking in another residential property were also sealed for violations.
Dhruv Kumar, a resident of DLF 2, said most of the residential buildings in the colony have unauthorized constructions and hence the department should conduct regular checks and seal properties of offenders.
Yadav said that complaints have been received of illegal construction in houses by taking possession certificate on CM window, which is a violation of the rules of Haryana Building Construction Code. “The department earlier issued show cause notices and restoration orders in all the cases, but when no satisfactory response was received from the property owners, DTCPThe enforcement team carried out the sealing drive on Thursday.”
