Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Housing Board ,chb) has got the final approval from its Board of Directors to launch its Sector 53 housing scheme.

The total number of flats has increased from 340 to 372, with an additional 32 falling under the EWS category, taking their number to 80.

In the meeting of the Board of Directors chaired by the UT Advisor Dharam PalSelf-financed housing scheme-2023 on freehold basis in Sector 53 was approved with minor changes in the brochure.

The scheme will be launched after finalizing the dates of opening and closing of the scheme chb President at the earliest,” said Yashpal GargCEO, CHB.

The online application process will be kept easy and simple. A helpdesk will be made available at CHB to assist people in applying online.

“There will be no need to submit documents along with the application. Eligibility documents will be asked only from the applicants who are successful in the draw.

The floating cost will be recovered in five equal installments (every six months) along with interest at the rate of 12% per annum from the date of issue of Acceptance-cum-Demand Letter (ACDL).

Pal said that the CHB in consultation with the architect wing of the administration would prepare a standard design for lifts in multi-storeyed housing units constructed by the CHB. “This will obviate the process of multiple approvals for allottees and enable them to take advantage of the need-based changes approved recently,” Pal said.
