PuneTenants across the state who have registered their leave and license agreements with the property registration department will soon be exempted from visiting police stations for verification.
State is ready with a module for integration of Property Registration Department tenant registration data with the home department, said state inspector general of registration and stamps HH Sonawane.
He said the department intends to map all the 1,130 police stations in the state to share the registration data of tenants.

In Pune, the verification process went online in September 2019 following the integration of ISARITA and the Tenant Information System, providing instant access to tenants’ data to 30 police stations under the jurisdiction of the Pune Commissionerate.
Sonawane said there are some technical issues that need to be addressed and the department has started approaching the home department regarding mapping of police stations and villages. Registration department officials said they have already sent several letters to the home department regarding the integration, which involves mapping the data of 44,000 villages with police stations. “We have again started contacting the Home Department and the process will start soon,” he said.
Officials of the Technical Department of the Home Department said that the work of connecting the villages with the police stations is going on. “There are 44,000 villages and work is on to connect villages with police stations,” said an official.
Property registration officials said that about 35,000 leave and license documents are e-registered every month in the state. Deputy Inspector General of Registration and Stamps (IT) Abhishek Deshmukh said that the module is ready and the login ID has been provided to Pune and Mumbai City police officers. “Similar efforts will be initiated with other police stations once the data is ready,” he added.
Earlier, landlords were required to submit the details of tenants online at the Pune Police Portal or at the nearest police station. Officials said that many tenants prefer not to register their leave and license documents just to avoid going to police stations.
“The new system is a perfect example of how departments can work together to check and ensure the safety of citizens. It is also a simple way of sharing data,” said a registration official.
Sachin Shingvi, president of real estate agents’ association, said that tenants in Pune city no longer need to visit police stations for verification.
