LudhianaExpressed concern over complaints of fake allotment of flats built under Basic Services for the Urban Poor ,bsupPlanning Officer Ludhiana Municipal Corporation Have come up with an advisory to caution people against fraudsters who have allegedly duped many people through illegal deals.
MC officials said bsup flat were set up to rehabilitate slum dwellers and no MC staff goes door-to-door for allotment of flats to the residents. The authorities warned residents not to fall prey to the scammers and to contact the authorities if they come across any of these illegal activities.
MC Joint Commissioner Kulpreet Singh Said that the civic body has received some complaints in this regard where fraudsters had handed over fake MC receipts and allotment letters to residents in lieu of money.
As per the information, the fraudsters have promised to allocate up to Rs 30,000 from each target. bsup Flat or plot adjacent to the flat.
Kulpreet said bsup flat were set up in different parts of the city including Giaspura and Mundian Kalan to rehabilitate slum dwellers. He said that the matter has been brought to the notice of Municipal Commissioner Dr. Shena Aggarwal and the concerned officers of the department have been informed about the fraudulent practice.
Appealing to the residents to be vigilant, the Joint Commissioner said that if the residents come to know about illegal activity in their respective areas, they can lodge a complaint with an officer of the Municipal Corporation, Harjot Singh (7696360002).
A few months ago, the Municipal Corporation had received some complaints that fake invoices were being issued to shopkeepers by fraudsters.
