MahaRERA issues notices to 261 projects with slow progress

Mumbai: Maharashtra Real Estate Regulatory Authority (Maharera) has issued show cause notices to 261 projects in which less than 40% work has been completed, while the possession of flats has been promised by December 2023.

There are a total of 45,539 flats in all the projects, out of which 26,178 flats have been booked by home buyers. MahaRERA has issued these notices only on the basis of the information submitted by the developers.

The regulatory authority has been examining projects registered with it as part of its monitoring exercise. The show cause notices to the developers have been issued by MahaRERA to find out how the developers intend to complete these projects in the next nine months.

The promoters have been given 15 days to respond. Of the 261 projects, 26 are from Mumbai city and 94 are from Mumbai suburbs, 43 from Mumbai Thanesince 15 RaigadSix from Palghar and 67 from Palghar Pune,

A MahaRERA official said, “We will find out what is the problem with each project and how it can be expedited. The worry is that these projects may end up. So, we want to warn them at the very beginning Promoters should.” Don’t think it’s a free for all, they should know we’re keeping an eye on them. If required, we can also send our investigator to the sites and call them for hearing.
