Ludhiana: The Ludhiana Municipal Corporation sealed a commercial Property tax defaults and two sewer connections disconnected as owners failed to pay water-sewer user charges.
The civic body’s teams also recovered over Rs 8.60 lakh from other defaulters who opted to pay the pending tax on the spot.
Team formed under the leadership of SDO (Zone B) Amritpal Singh Two sewer connections on Guru Arjun Dev Nagar Road broke as the owners failed to pay water-sewer user charges. The team recovered Rs 1.10 lakh from five other defaulters.
The second team, led by Superintendent (Zone B) Harminder Singh, which went to seal the properties of property tax defaulters, recovered around Rs 2.5 lakh from three defaulters, who opted to pay the tax on the spot.
Zone C team led by Superintendent Gurprakash Singh and Inspector Karan Sharma sealed a commercial property at 33 Feet Road in Giaspura after the owner failed to pay the pending tax. The team recovered Rs 5 lakh from five other defaulters, who paid the dues on the spot.
