Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) had on May 9 last year ordered the transfer of nine private colonies, including Mayfield Garden, to the MCG. However, even though eight colonies were transferred to the civic body, according to residents, the builders of Mayfield Garden are not ready to relocate the colony.

The residents said they see no reason to participate in the MCG elections when their civic problems are not being addressed by the MCG.

“Last month a general body meeting was held in which we decided that we will boycott the elections if our colony is not taken over by the MCG. So, we have put up the banner. The dispute with the builder has to be resolved separately Need and in the meantime MCG can do it.” , take over the colony and provide services to the residents. Sanjay Gupta, general secretary of N Block RWA in Mayfield Garden, said, “After aggressively pursuing on several platforms, I had formally lodged a complaint with CM Window regarding the delay in acquisition and the inconvenience caused to the residents. I got a reply from MCG that they are helpless on this issue, so the complaint should be closed.”

“A joint survey of the deficient infrastructure should be done in our presence. The estimated cost of completing the deficient infrastructure is Rs 4.5 crore, if the authorities accept this estimate, we will hand over the colony to the MCG,” said Ajay Shokeen, Assistant General Manager (Marketing), Mayfield Projects. An MCG official in the know of the matter said, “The delay is on the part of the builder, who is not ready to hand over the colony to us.”
