Gurugram: DTCP withdraws order canceling license of MRG Skyline

Gurugram: Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) has withdrawn its order canceling the project license of an affordable housing project in Sector 106.

After cancellation of license of DTCP, MRG Skyline In November 2022, last week wrote to the police seeking registration of an FIR against the developer for violation of norms. Department officials said that the cancellation order was revoked after the developer, KN Infracon Pvt. Ltd., having paid the requisite fee.

It was given a license in 2020 to set up an affordable housing colony on 10 acres. The license was later canceled in November 2022 on the basis of a complaint. Manipur Commercial private Limited.

According to DTCP officials, KN Infracon submitted an application on June 15, 2020, to transfer its 2010 license granted for a group housing colony to an affordable housing colony. At this point, however, it no longer owned the land – KN Infracon sold it to TrueTrust Analytics Pvt Ltd (now MRG Castle Realty LLP) on October 23, 2019.

In a fresh order issued on February 24, the DTCP said that the order canceling the license was withdrawn after considering the review application filed by KN Infracon and MRG Castle.

“Since the developer has paid the requisite compounding fee, any action taken by the department on the basis of its earlier order stands withdrawn,” the order said.

The DTCP had canceled the license of the project on the basis of two allegations. The first was that there were irregularities in the conversion of KN Infracon’s group housing license to an affordable housing scheme, as the DTCP was kept in the dark about the ownership rights of the project’s land. The builder was also alleged to have sold his licensed land as agricultural land to another developer, causing loss of revenue to the exchequer.

KN Infracon, in its reply to the department, had said that the original license issued in 2010 was canceled by DTCP in November 2012 and reinstated in October 2020. The sale deed was executed treating the property as agricultural land.

A MRG spokesperson said, “Our construction at Skyline is progressing ahead of schedule after receiving all necessary documents and permissions from the relevant departments. We encourage all home buyers to verify facts with us, as our Has nothing to hide.”
