Mangala Ransing, 22, president of Yashojay Society in Bhoslenagar area, also availed of the GR provisions and got a deemed vehicle two months ago. “Now, we will start the OC process with the local authority. If they also simplify the process, it will go a long way for societies like ours,” she said.
Members of a 25-year-old housing society said they were not aware of this provision. A member said, “Even after repeated visits to the registrar’s office, no one told us about this.”
Pune city district deputy registrar Sanjay Raut said several societies with OCs in his jurisdiction were applying for deemed convention after submitting self-declarations. Assistant registrar Navnath Anapath Bhosale said, “Around 60-70% of the applications are without OC documents.” He also admitted that the awareness about 2018 GR was low.
The PMC official who issued the OC to the societies in receipt of deemed conveyance said that the local authorities check the building plans and charge for road development or water lines. The federation’s vice-president Suhas Patwardhan said that the state housing federation is now planning to run a special campaign to create awareness about the 2018 Gr.
