Gurugram: 50 plus home buyers Tashi Capital Gateway gathered at the project site in Sector 111 and protested against the developer over the delay in handing over the possession of their flats.

According to the protesters, the project was started in 2011. The builder-buyer agreement was signed in 2013 with the promise of delivery of flats by December 2015.

Till date, however, only 65% ​​work has been completed in the first phase of the project, while 40% work has been done in the second phase, home buyers claimed. Spread over 10.5 acres, the project has around 530 flats, out of which around 350 units have been sold by the developer. Most of the buyers have paid around 90% to 100% of the amount.

VK Singh, president of the Capital Gateway Homebuyers’ Welfare Association, said, “We were promised possession of our flats in December 2015, and even after seven years, we are not sure when they will be given.”

Few buyers contacted in 2019 h-rarewhich imposed a penalty of 10.2% per annum for the delay, but the developer did not comply with the order, he alleged.

“Earlier, the developer made excuses and gave new deadline after deadline, but now they have stopped responding to us. The developer did not comply with the H-RERA order and it seems the authorities have no time to take action. No power.” said another buyer Harbir Singh Gulati.

Homebuyers have urged H-RERA and the state government to intervene and complete the project within the stipulated time frame.
