“It is a big day for the people of Banjara (Lambani nomad) community as more than 50,000 people will get their roof through Hakku Patra”, the PM said at a public meeting at Malkhed in this district.

Modi said, “Those living in Thandas had to struggle for their rights for a long time and faced many difficulties. They had to wait for a long time.”

“But now the gloomy atmosphere is changing. I want to assure the Banjara mothers that their son (Modi) is sitting in Delhi.”

Modi said that the Banjaras are getting title deed in ‘auspicious’ January on the land they have been occupying since many decades, because in this month the Constitution came into force and the countrymen got their fundamental rights. He said that today in this auspicious January, Karnataka has taken steps for the social justice of the people.

Invoking the name of 12th-century social reformer Basaveshwara, whose followers are known as Lingayats, a prominent community in north Karnataka, Modi said the ‘double engine government’ (BJP government at the Center and in Karnataka) has brought good governance and The path of harmony has been opened. , which are the basic foundation of the teachings of ‘Basavanna’.

He also told the gathering that the Center has launched the Village Population Survey and Village Areas Improvement Mapping with Technology (SVAMITVA) scheme, under which land holders have property cards. Now the Banjara community will also get the same facility through which they will be able to get toilet, electricity, water and cooking gas connection in every house.

Indirectly criticizing the Congress, Modi said that even after so many decades of Indian independence, there are communities that are deprived of development and out of the purview of government assistance.

The Prime Minister alleged, “Those who ruled the country for the maximum number of years took votes from the deprived community, but did not take concrete steps for their upliftment.”

Modi said that for the first time such Dalit communities are getting their rights because of the clear strategy of their empowerment.

He also informed the crowd about various pro-people measures like Ayushman Bharat, free ration, loan through Jan Dhan account and PM Swanidhi Yojana.

According to Karnataka Revenue Minister R Ashoka, 51,900 ‘hakku patras’ (land title deeds) were granted, which will be entered in the World Book of Records.
