Chandigarh: The Chandigarh Housing Board ,chb) has decided to come up with 340 flats instead of 492 in its Sector 53 housing scheme for Rs 208.65 crore.

Around 100 one BHK flats will be abolished and the number of Economic Weaker Section (EWS) category flats will be reduced from 80 to 48. Now there will be 192 flats of 3BHK, 100 of 2BHK and remaining 48 of EWS category. Revised Scheme.

A detailed agenda in this regard will come up for approval in the CHB’s board meeting on February 2. The meeting will be chaired by the UT Advisor. Dharam PalWho also has the additional charge of CHB President.

Sources said the CHB expects more interest from allottees in 2BHK and 3BHK flats due to the current scenario of the real estate market.

CHB sources said the demand survey report of the scheme earlier had 38 applicants for the EWS category, 12 for one-bedroom flats, 33 for two-bedroom flats and 95 for three-bedroom flats. A total of 178 applications were received. The demand survey was based on the proposed salable cost, which did not include profit, but included construction cost, land cost and departmental charges.

The plan approval committee of the UT administration had approved the drawings of the plan with conditions. While planning the project, environmental clearance was obtained for the project, while the consent of the Chandigarh Pollution Control Committee was to be obtained.
