“Our housing scheme requires around 3 lakh liters of water per day, of which 50% is from the Nagpur Municipal Corporation (NMC) connection and the remaining 50% from the well adjacent to Tower A. The well was handed over to the society. We have been using well water since day one. After the developer started building new towers, it stopped supplying our flat plans and started using water. This is against the rules after the developer assured us at the time of purchasing the flat.

The flat owners also alleged that the act of the developer was nothing short of destroying their property. “We have written to the developer requesting him to restore the supply. We are incurring a loss of Rs 15,000 per day in meeting our requirement by getting water from tankers.

Prateek Saraogi of Goldbricks Infrastructure denied any role in the water crisis. “They are using NMC water and should approach the civic body if they face any shortage. We have not handed over the well to anyone. All the wells in the complex are old and not in use.

Another flat owner alleged, “The societies have filed cases against the developer which are pending before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission. Rare The developer is trying to harass the flat owners by cutting off the water supply and forcing them to withdraw the case. Unethical methods are being adopted. The conduct of the developer is inhuman and a crime against innocent residents of the society,” he alleged.
