Singh claimed that the land was allotted to the developer – supertech – by YEIDA in 2009 and it immediately started selling the project. Plot buyers were promised possession and registration by 2012.
“Subsequently, Supertech actually offered possession of plots to people, but it was only on paper as there was no occupancy certificate. Besides, there was nothing like electricity connection, sewage treatment plant, club house or entrance gate on the ground,” he said.
Many buyers went to the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Forum.
In 2016, the NCDRF canceled the offer of possession given by the developer and ordered that the builder cannot recover any money for the same, the buyers claimed. The project has around 3,500-4,000 units (flats, villas and plots) sold by Supertech and around 800 buyers have been offered possession so far.
However, not a single buyer has registered his property. The project does not have an occupancy or completion certificate till date, around 250 families currently live there.
