Residents of flats run by Lucknow development body grapple with maintenance problems

Claimed to be Lucknow’s first theme based residential project, residents are still waiting for a theme park, multi-purpose community centre, amphitheater and shopping arcade, as promised by the LDA in its brochure.

When TOI contacted residents, some said that rubbing salt on their wounds, the LDA was trying to hastily set up RWAs and hand over maintenance to them without fulfilling their promises, while others said that filing complaints Even after that their problems have not been resolved. , “I bought a flat in Sargam Apartments for Rs 50 lakh but it lacks basic amenities. We paid Rs 50,000 to the LDA for maintenance and it is responsible for providing basic amenities as the RWA is yet to be registered. However, the LDA has charged the supervisor who claims that his dues have not been cleared yet,” said resident Anil Srivastava.

“The LDA is in a hurry to hand over the maintenance to the RWA without completing the entire project. Had also promised to build a club house but the work has not started yet. The supervisor has also reduced the guards, posing a threat to our safety.

Saumya Jaiswal, another resident of Sargam, said, “The streetlights are out of order and snakes have been seen in the wild grass which is a matter of concern.”

Vivek Sharma, vice-president of the Lucknow Jan Kalyan Maha Samiti and a resident of Srishti Apartments, said: “We have been wandering door to door complaining of lift malfunctions, poor power backup, lack of fire safety equipment, dilapidated roads and seepage. But all the complaints have fallen on deaf ears.

‘Despite complaints no action has been taken. We need proper operation of lifts and basic amenities like water proofing,” said Vikas Singh, a resident of Smriti Apartments.

Vineet Singh, a resident of Janeshwar Enclave, said, “The quality of water pipelines is substandard which often breaks, due to which we have to deal with water crisis.”

LDA Vice-Chairman Indramani Tripathi said, ‘I have taken the matter in my hands and resolved some issues in Sargam and Janeshwar Enclave Apartments. The remaining work will be completed soon. I have strictly directed the concerned authorities to look into the problems of the residents on priority basis.
