Panaji: The Goa Coastal Zone Management Authority (GCZMA) has cleared the deck for construction co-working space Four Beaches proposed by the Department of Information Technology- Near Ashwam, morjim, Miramar And benaulim, The idea first came about when the concept of ‘work’ became popular during the pandemic.
In Miramar, co-working space will be built near the Manohar Parrikar Mausoleum Complex, while in the case of Morjim, it will be a co-working space cum Turtle Nesting Interpretation Centre, as Olives have nested in this part of the coast at Pernem. Ridley Turtles.
The GCZMA expert member said in his report that many tourists come to Morjim thinking that they will be able to see the nesting of turtles, but this does not happen because this activity takes place at night. Therefore these tourists can be offered Interpretation Center near co-working space.
“We need to be careful with the approach to the Morjim site. At the time of construction, care should be taken to ensure that there is no damage to the beach profile and its vegetative cover. The beach is known for turtle nesting . Proposed. The site falls under sustainable tourism zone as per the Sea Turtle Nesting Habitat Management Plan,” said the GCZMA expert member, based on the report of which the authority gave its NOC for the co-working space.
The GCZMA said part of the co-working space could be converted into a sea turtle information center and managed by the Goa Forest Department to create awareness about sea turtles and responsible tourist behaviour.
The space earmarked for co-working is currently used to store hut material during the rainy season and the GCZMA has said that an understanding can be made with the hut owners, who will be selling food and beverages. Will benefit from the medium working place.

In the case of co-working space at Miramar adjacent to Manohar Parrikar Samadhi, the IT department has been asked to take steps to ensure that there is no damage to the ecosystem of the beach during and after construction. The co-working space in Benaulim will be built in front of the tourist information facility where facilities for parking, toilets, etc. already exist.
Similarly in Ashwam, the site chosen is partly a parking area while a part of it is being used by fishermen to park their boats.
