Now in some cases, people are coming forward to either settle their taxes or to report issues including disputes, if any, related to the building. The MC looks into the matter accordingly to reach a final decision,” said an official.
Since commercial properties generate maximum revenue from tax, the authorities are focusing more on this segment.
“Signs can be sent for sealing of commercial properties, but the authorities cannot seal the houses,” the sources said. The MC has set a target of Rs 80 crore in property tax for the current financial year.
