BhubaneswarUnion Minister of State for Rural Development Sadhvi Niranjan Jyoti told the Lok Sabha on Tuesday that out of 32.36 lakh eligible families in the state, more than 14 lakh are waiting to get houses under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G). ,
The 32.36 lakh households eligible for PMAY-G houses include 18.58 lakh and 13.78 lakh households identified on housing deprivation parameters set under the Socio Economic and Caste Census (SECC)-2011, which were not included in the SECC but eligible by the state government were found. and registered in the Awaas+ portal, an online platform where all states were asked to register their eligible beneficiaries.
As of December 14, the state has sanctioned 18.36 lakh houses to beneficiaries, with housing assistance of Rs 1.5 lakh per family. Of them, construction of 17.13 lakh houses has been completed, the Union minister said in response to a question by Bhubaneswar MP Aparajita Sarangi.
While the Center has revised its ‘Housing for All’ target from 2022 to 2024, the Ministry of Rural Development has set a target of 26.95 lakh houses under PMAY-G Odisha From 2016-17 to 2021-22.
