Chandigarh: It is likely to be auctioned by Municipal Corporation (MC), Chandigarh next month commercial properties in manimajra after approval of Chandigarh Administration,
The body’s general body has already given its approval for auctioning the properties and sources said now the approval of the minutes of the meeting is needed to start the process of auction.
“The minutes of the meeting would first be confirmed by the members of the general body in the September meeting and then later sent to the secretary home and the local bodies of Chandigarh administration for approval.
The properties will be auctioned online to avoid human interference and an exercise will be done with the intention of inviting more and more interested people,” revealed MC sources.
The civic body has prepared a list of 18 major commercial properties to be auctioned during this e-auction process. Since all the properties are located at prime locations of Manimajra, the authority is expecting good revenue from these properties. The financial estimates of 18 properties have been prepared in consultation with engineering, finance and other concerned departments and as per its estimates, the civic body is expected to get Rs 61.71 crore as reserve price.
Reserve prices vary between Rs 3 crore to Rs 6 crore depending on the size and location. Apart from one motor shop site and two restaurant sites, all properties to be auctioned are shop-cum-flat (SCF). With the approval of the Administration, the MC has already earmarked the SCF sites for general trading.
