Gurugram: Residents demand structural and financial audit of New Town Heights

GurugramResident of : New Town Heights has approached the Department of Town and Country Planning (DTCP) seeking a structural and forensic audit of the project in Sector 91.

TL Satyaprakash, Director General, DTCP, in a letter to the Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav and district town planner Amit MadholiaResidents have alleged that poor design and construction defects pose a safety risk to the 600 families living in the society. He also demanded that the developer be directed to fulfill the conditions of the completion certificate. Satyaprakash received the letter on Tuesday.

“Seepages, cracks and falling of plaster are common in all towers due to poor construction. The condition of the lift is also bad.

The residents have demanded a structural audit, testing of construction materials and a forensic financial audit of the society’s funds by a competent authority like IIT-Roorkee or Delhi.

“We are paying huge maintenance charges every month but are not getting enough facilities. We have demanded a financial audit of the books for transparency,” said PK Kaul, a resident of Tower D of the society.

When contacted, a spokesperson of the developer said that their teams are in constant touch and working with the RWAs and residents. “RWAs and residents are well aware of any/all progress of the work,” he said.
