GURUGRAM: The deputy commissioner has finally called a meeting of 16 Resident Welfare Associations (RWAs) residential society to discuss the structural audit report on Monday.
Based on the visual checks carried out by the four agencies, the audit report was submitted to a committee headed by Additional Deputy Commissioner Vishram Kumar Meena about three weeks ago. Meena submitted the report to Deputy Commissioner Nishant Yadav.
The residents are urging the authorities to share the findings of the audit report so that corrective measures can be initiated at the earliest. Some residents also alleged that some developers are trying to suppress the report as their highrises are structurally unsafe.
Earlier, the District Town Planner (DTP) had issued a letter to all RWAs asking them to attend the meeting to be held on December 10, but later it was postponed till Monday. He was informed that the Deputy Commissioner has already held a meeting with the audit agencies, but the findings were not yet shared with the RWAs.
Four Agencies – Bureau Vertias, TPC Technical Project Consultant, Vintech Consultants and NNC Design International—contracted to conduct the audit in August. They started the survey in mid-September. The process included on-site inspection of the buildings to check for any obvious defects, signs of deterioration and damage to slabs, columns and beams.
District Town Planner (Enforcement) Amit Madholia said that besides officials and RWA members, representatives of structural audit agencies and developers would also be present in the meeting. The structural audit was to be completed within 45 days.
The agencies are required to suggest remedial measures and make recommendations regarding the type, frequency and location of other tests that will be carried out to ascertain the structural integrity of the audited buildings.
